The User Portal comes with a WP Engine hosting plan and manages only the sites in that account. Sites on other hosts have to move to WP Engine before the portal can manage them.
CMDPress runs on its own cloud and works with WordPress on any host, so one workspace covers sites spread across providers.

Business covers 30 to 50 sites from $400 per month; self-serve Essential for 50 sites is $730 per month (30 sites plus 20 extra sites at $20 each). On Essential, Smart Plugin Manager is $10 and Site Monitoring is $5 per month per license. CMDPress does not include hosting.
